Early access terms
The Services are currently provided in an early access phase and are available to a limited number of customers. By using the Services, you acknowledge that:
certain limits may apply to your account, including maximum balances and transaction thresholds;
some features or functionalities may be limited, modified, or unavailable during this phase; and
performance and service levels, including processing times and availability, may vary as we continue to develop and improve the Services.
We may update, modify, or suspend parts of the Services from time to time as part of ongoing testing and improvements.
Altery EU LTD is a private limited company incorporated and registered in the Republic of Cyprus with company number HE415141 whose registered office is at Andrea Kariolou, 38 Agios Athanasios, 4102, Limassol, Cyprus. Altery is authorised and regulated by the Central Bank of Cyprus as an Electronic Money Institution, under registration number 115.1.3.61. Altery's main business is the issuance, distribution, redemption of e-money and the provision of services closely related to the issuance of electronic money.
Our services are composed of the supply of an electronic money account ("Altery Account") linked to the Altery Platform. You can use the Altery Account to store funds, receive funds from external accounts, and send electronic payments either to an account held by Altery or to a third-party bank or e-money account.
This agreement sets out the terms and conditions for Altery Accounts and the related provision of services for customers in Cyprus and, where applicable, in the EU/EEA and EFTA countries.
For your own benefit and protection, you should read these Terms and each of the documents we refer to carefully before using the Services. If you do not understand any point, you should contact us using the methods set out on www.altery.com.
We will communicate with you in English, which is the language agreed with you when opening your account. By accepting this agreement, you agree that we may provide notices or other information to your registered email address or other contact details you have provided to us.
1. Definitions and interpretation
1.1 These Terms are a legal agreement between Altery EU LTD ("Altery", "we", "us", or "our") and the Customer ("you" or "your") for us to supply you with the Services. They apply to Altery Accounts offered in the EU/EEA and EFTA countries through the Cyprus-regulated entity.
1.2 These Terms remain binding from the opening of an Altery Account until the closure of that account.
1.3 Documents or information that appear on the Altery Website, and that we refer to in these Terms, are incorporated into these Terms and form part of your agreement with us.
1.4 You may obtain the current version of these Terms from the legal documents section of our website or request a copy from us using the contact details published on the website.
2. Scope of services
2.1 The Altery Account is an electronic money account that may be used to hold funds, receive funds from external accounts, and send electronic payments either to an account held with Altery or to a third-party bank or e-money account, subject to the limits and restrictions that apply to your account.
2.2 The availability of individual services, including card services and other related functionality, depends on onboarding status, jurisdiction, product availability, and our compliance requirements.
3. Language and communications
3.1 All information and documents we provide or make available to you will be in English, and ongoing communications with you will also be in English.
3.2 By accepting these Terms, you agree that we may provide notices and other information to your registered email address or other contact details you have provided to us.
4. Safeguarding and regulation
4.1 Client funds relating to Altery Accounts offered through the Cyprus entity are safeguarded in segregated accounts in accordance with applicable Cyprus and European legislation.
4.2 Altery EU LTD is authorised and regulated by the Central Bank of Cyprus as an Electronic Money Institution. Product availability and regulatory permissions may differ by country and customer type.
5. Related documents
5.1 Depending on your jurisdiction and the services you use, additional legal documents may apply, including card terms and conditions, the privacy policy, the cookies policy, and the complaints policy.
5.2 If you change location or your Altery service provider changes, you may become subject to a different Altery entity's agreements.
6. Governing framework
6.1 These Terms are intended for Altery Accounts offered through the Cyprus-regulated entity and should be read together with the operational and compliance rules that apply to your account, onboarding status, and jurisdiction.
6.2 Where there is any conflict between a general website summary and the formal account terms made available to you during onboarding or account use, the formal account terms govern.
7. Jurisdiction
7.1 These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Cyprus.
7.2 The parties to these Terms submit all disputes relating to these Terms and the Services to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Republic of Cyprus.
